Biblical Counseling

We understand that there are times in life where you just need a helping hand. In fact, many people are doing very well in some parts of their life while struggling in others. We believe that the Bible has answers for all the problems we face in life. Most of all, we believe in a Savior, Jesus Christ, who stands ready to help us in our time of need. We offer Biblical Counseling to help you with your struggles. We use the Bible to show you how to deal with the problems in your life.

• What is Biblical Counseling?

  Biblical counseling uses the Bible to help people deal with life’s struggles. We are different from other kinds of Christian counseling because we do not blend a man-centered, secular approach to our counseling practice. Biblical counseling has many goals, but our primary goal is to help you develop a whole-hearted love for God and others.

• How long do sessions last?

  Weekly sessions last about an hour.

• How many times will we meet?

  Many of our counselees see significant progress in 8-12 weeks.

• What problems can you help me with?

  We see people with all kinds of problems including those struggling in their marriage, parents needing help with their children, those dealing with sexual sin, anyone battling with addictions, and those struggling with emotions (e.g., fear, depression, anxiety, or anger). In all cases, we use the Bible, God’s Sufficient Word, to answer the problems of life.

• Will my counselor be qualified?

  Our lead counselors have been through extensive training in Biblical Counseling. This training includes multiple classes, completion of multiple exams, and over 50 hours of supervised counseling. Once a counselor's training is completed, they are certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).

• What does counseling cost?

  Our Biblical Counseling service is a ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church that we offer to our local and extended communities. There is no weekly charge for our counseling services. We do ask for a $25 deposit from you at your first appointment that will be returned to you upon faithful completion of the counseling process.
