Youth Ministry
We understand the pressures and pit-falls faced by teens in our culture. We have developed a program to assist our teens and their parents in preparing our young people for service, and helping to protect them from falling prey to the wiles of the devil, or the allurements of the world.
- We have a Sunday School class for teens in which our teens are taught through specific books of the Bible or Biblical topics where our intent is to promote their spiritual growth. A major part of the teen class is our F.O.C.U.S. program (Faithfully Obeying Christ Unto Sanctification). It is a program which encourages our teens in developing good habits in the area of Bible reading/study, church attendance, verse memorization, service in the church and service to others.
- Our teens meet once every month for a teen fellowship, after the Sunday morning service, in our church fellowship hall. The "host" family provides the meal and the teens enjoy a time of singing and sharing testimonies before going to a local retirement home to minister to the residents.
- Our teens also meet once a month for a teen activity. The activity is usually on a Saturday and can include things like bowling, sledding, hiking, capture the flag, and much much more. A "host" family provides the meal for the activity and our teen leader plans the activity.
- Every summer we have a teen evangelistic effort we call Teen Challenge. It's a four day event for all the teens in our area to get a free T-shirt, enjoy some teen-friendly games and competition, great food, skits, cheers, trivia and a Bible message each day.
